Rebecca Sharples
MCSP, HPC, ACPAT (A), CCRP is a chartered physiotherapist.
Rebecca qualified as a chartered physiotherapist in 1993. She then trained in South Africa and England To specialise in the physiotherapy treatment of small animals and equine cases in 1995/96. She also completed the certificate programme in Canine Rehabilitation at Tennessee University in 2004. Rebecca previously worked in Cambridge and Newmarket, providing an animal physiotherapy service to 25 different veterinary groups and their clients. These veterinary practices included the Animal Health Trust, Rossdale’s & Partners, Cambridge Veterinary Hospital and Greenwood Ellis. Rebecca worked with high level competition horses from a variety of disciplines, including dressage, 3 day eventing and racing. She also worked closely with small animal orthopaedic and neurological veterinary referral centres.
As a former Vice Chairman of ACPAT, Rebecca was involved with the education, professional standards and practice of animal physiotherapists in the United Kingdom.
Chartered physiotherapists are experts in rehabilitation. They are trained to handle injury and disease by physical means as opposed to chemical means. Physiotherapy is not an alternative, but often an adjunct to conventional veterinary medicines.
